The Origin
He Wasn't Born With Perfect Genes
Vince Gironda wasn't born with perfect genes. His 'perfect physique' was a result of diligent work ethic, relentless research, and a die-hard passion for bodybuilding.
When Vince was seven, his family moved from the Bronx to California — his father contracted as a stuntman in the original Ben Hur film.
At eighteen he set school records in Shot Put (47ft 1in) and Pole Vault (12ft). A natural athlete — but not yet a bodybuilder.
